چکیده

The main challenges to the commercial deployment of solvent-based post-combustion carbon capture technology include high energy consumption and capital operating costs. New solvents alternative process configurations are being pursued reduce costs process. This paper investigates technical economic performance using piperazine (PZ) solvent for a 250 MWe natural gas combined cycle power plant. Three different PZ were evaluated compared standard 30 wt% monoethanolamine (MEA) solvent. was rate-based model developed in Aspen Plus® V8.4 evaluation carried out Process Economic Analyzer®V8.4. results showed that total demand reduces from 5.34 GJ/tCO2 MEA 3.56 PZ. lowest 2.76 achieved with advanced flash stripper 40 show annual cost M$26.58 per year CO2 $34.65 tonneCO2 obtained (AFS) It concluded would bring practical benefits large-scale applications current solution. Therefore, this study will inspire policymakers researchers towards PCC

The cost of carbon capture and storage for natural gas combined cycle power plants.

This paper examines the cost of CO(2) capture and storage (CCS) for natural gas combined cycle (NGCC) power plants. Existing studies employ a broad range of assumptions and lack a consistent costing method. This study takes a more systematic approach to analyze plants with an amine-based postcombustion CCS system with 90% CO(2) capture. We employ sensitivity analyses together with a probabilist...

Environmental-economic evaluation of sugar cane bagasse gasification power plants versus combined-cycle gas power plants

Approximately 2.4 million tons of bagasse are produced each year in Iran, most of which are currently treated as waste adding to serious environmental concerns. Application of bagasse for energy production is a sustainable solution to supply the required energy within the sugar refineries and export the surplus electricity to the grid. Currently, the energy demand in Iranian sugar mills is main...

Oxyfuel combustion: technical and economic considerations for the development of carbon capture from pulverized coal power plants

avoidance cost of carbon capture from pulverized coal plants. To investigate this possibility, a technoeconomic oxyfuel model was constructed. The model was exercised to explore the effect on CO2 avoidance cost and LCOE from several key parameters, namely: CO2 purity, oxidant purity, CPU and ASU performance and cost, coal composition, and geographic location. Monte-Carlo techniques were then us...

Cogeneration Power-Desalting Plants Using Gas Turbine Combined Cycle

The gas-steam turbine combined cycle (GTCC) is the preferred power plant type because of its high efficiency and its use of cheap and clean natural gas as fuel. It is also the preferred type in the Arab Gulf countries where it is used as cogeneration power-desalting plant (CPDP). In this chapter, descriptions and analysis of the GTCC components are presented, namely, the gas turbine cycle (comp...
